Strategy

"I liked all of the workshops, but my favorite workshop was with Guitar Gabby learning about LLCs and copyright because it's something that I would've never looked for myself, and I feel like she explained the process in a very informational but easy-to-understand way."

- Anonymous Camper, Girls Rock Chicago

“The TxLips instructors are reliable, prepared, and open.”

- Kristi, GRC Portland

“By leadership observation, campers were engaged, and content was age-appropriate / helpful.”

+ Vision

“I sincerely appreciated the professionalism the group brought to all of our communications. I think members of this collective became role models for our campers, which was definitely one of the most valuable aspects of our camp/partnership.”

- Staff Member, Girls Rock Camp Montreal, Quebec

“Campers seeing more women, especially women of color, in the music industry and taking charge of their own music is important for kids at our camp to see. We appreciate all of the information the TxLips Band shared with our campers this year!”

- Staff member, Girls Rock Southeast L.A.

“The TxLips brought phenomenal leadership and expertise to both GRD volunteers and campers. We are thrilled with this partnership! It was incredibly valuable to have new voices in leadership from experienced professional musicians who are committed to lifting up the voices of girls/trans/non-binary kids and are committed to social justice, DEI, and anti-oppression work.”

- Karissa, Girls Rock Denver

= Success

“While the pandemic presented lots of challenges leading up to the camp season, one amazing opportunity that was presented was the ability to include amazingly talented teachers and performers from The TxLips Band. It was so great working with this amazing crew! “

- Jess Hasler, Girls Rock Rochester

“Having Jae and Erin of The TxLips Gang teach this summer was amazing. I believe having their talent and precise musical skill was a huge asset, as some of our volunteers are sometimes more beginner-level instrumentalists. Additionally, it is so valuable and important to have Black women and trans people teach at camp. I believe Jae and Erin's lived experiences as Black musicians offered an important perspective at our Portland Rock Camp. “
